Privacy Policy

Pyramids ("the app", "we") is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

• We do not sell personal data, run ads, or track you across apps or websites.
• We have no behavioral or product-usage analytics SDK and no Pyramids user accounts. RevenueCat processes purchase history for entitlement management and purchase/subscription analytics, including Customer History and Charts.
• Tasks and bricks are local by default. Pyramids Plus includes optional Pyramid Sync, which can store reviewed task and pyramid data in your private iCloud after you enable it. A separate limited slice of game progress backs up automatically.
• Named network flows are Apple/RevenueCat purchase and entitlement handling and, only when you explicitly request it, selected task text sent directly to Anthropic for the optional AI helper. Optional Pyramid Sync uses Apple CloudKit. Pyramids does not operate an application server for these flows.

What's stored on your device

The app keeps your tasks, completed-task history ("bricks"), level, coins, streaks, shop items, and settings locally on your device (using on-device storage). Pyramids does not operate a server that receives this data. Tasks and bricks leave the device only through an explicit Task Backup export/share or when you enable optional Pyramid Sync as described below. If you delete the app, the local copy is removed. iCloud copies may remain until you use the matching in-app deletion control or Apple/iCloud controls.

Local task backup and sharing

Settings includes an optional Task Backup tool. When you explicitly use it, Pyramids creates a readable JSON file containing your tasks and related local task data, such as schedules, notes, links, projects/tags, completion history, and pyramid stones.

• You choose the save location through Apple's Files interface or choose a destination through the iOS share sheet. Pyramids has no backup server and receives no copy.
• The file excludes your Anthropic API key, settings, coins, purchased gems, Pyramids Plus/entitlement status, purchase receipts, notification delivery ids, and internal operation logs.
• Previewing an import does not change app data. You must explicitly choose Merge or Replace before the validated file is applied.
• Because the JSON contains readable task text, store or share it only with a location or person you trust.

Automatic iCloud economy backup

So a new phone or a reinstall doesn't wipe out progress you've earned or paid for, the app automatically backs up a small slice of your game state — progression/economy totals, owned and equipped shop items, consumable counts, and gem balance — to your own private iCloud using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store when it is available.

• This uses the iCloud account already signed in on your device. There is no separate account, sign-up, or password.
• The data is stored in your Apple iCloud storage, governed by Apple's privacy policy. It never reaches our servers — we cannot see it.
• It contains in-game progression/economy values and stable game-operation markers, not task titles, task notes, brick titles, contacts, the Anthropic key, or purchase receipts.
• If iCloud is signed out or unavailable, the app works exactly the same using its local copy; the backup is best-effort.
• Clear App Data in Settings erases this backup along with your local data (your gem balance is deliberately preserved, since gems are purchased value).

Optional Pyramid Sync (Pyramids Plus)

Tasks and pyramid stones stay on your device by default. If you have Pyramids Plus and explicitly enable Pyramid Sync, Pyramids stores the task and pyramid data needed to reproduce your workspace across your Apple devices in your private CloudKit database. This includes task titles, descriptions, notes, links, schedules and time zones, recurrence, priority, hierarchy and manual order, projects, tags, saved views, completion snapshots/history, archive and restore state, pyramid-stone titles, and stable record/change/deletion identifiers and timestamps.

• Pyramid Sync uses the iCloud account already signed in on the device. There is no Pyramids account, and Pyramids operates no application server for this data. Apple stores it in the user's private iCloud container.
• The feature is off until enabled. Before the first sync, and after an iCloud account change, Pyramids shows what exists on the device and in iCloud and asks whether to merge or start from one copy.
• Local task and gameplay actions continue while offline or while iCloud is unavailable. Changes wait on the device and retry later. If Pyramids Plus ends, local work continues and sync pauses without deleting either copy.
• Turning Pyramid Sync off never deletes the current device. You choose whether to keep its CloudKit records for later or delete them from the original iCloud account. If deletion cannot finish immediately, Pyramids retains only the deletion request and retries without downloading task content when that account is reachable.
• Reminder permission, scheduled notification ids, snoozes, Anthropic API keys, purchase receipts/entitlements, coins, gems, unrelated settings, analytics, and internal operation journals are not stored by Pyramid Sync. The limited automatic iCloud economy backup above remains separate.

Purchases (Pyramids Plus & gems)

Pyramids offers optional in-app purchases — the Pyramids Plus subscription and gem packs. Everything the app did before remains free; purchases only add to it.

• All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment-card details.
• To unlock what you've bought and keep it working across your devices and reinstalls, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service. The configured SDK checks entitlement status at launch and during purchase, restore, and subscription management. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated app-user identifier, App Store purchase history/receipt information, and basic app/device information needed for this purpose.
• This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID, and is used only to manage purchases and entitlements and the associated purchase/subscription analytics — not for advertising or cross-app tracking. Pyramids does not send task or gameplay behavior to RevenueCat.
• RevenueCat's handling of this data is governed by RevenueCat's privacy policy; Apple's handling is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
• We do not operate our own server in this flow and store none of this data ourselves.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, the app schedules local notifications on your device (daily nudges, streak reminders, and mindfulness prompts). These are generated on-device and are not sent through our servers.

Optional AI task breakdown

The app includes an optional, off-by-default feature that suggests how to break a task into smaller steps. If — and only if — you turn it on and provide your own Anthropic API key:

• Only the title of the task you choose to break down is sent to Anthropic's API to generate suggested steps.
• Your API key is stored securely on your device and is used to call Anthropic directly; the request is authenticated to and billed through your own Anthropic account.
• We do not operate a server in this flow and do not receive or retain a copy of the request. Anthropic's current API retention and deletion rules apply under Anthropic's privacy policy and the terms attached to your Anthropic account.

You can disable this feature and remove your key at any time in Settings; either action stops future AI requests from Pyramids.

Children's privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
